Therapy for BLACK Queer millennials in new york State
Reclaim the peace that’s already within you.
Are you trapped in a cycle of anxiety, low self-esteem, and disconnection FROM yourself and others?
As a black LGBTQIA+ professional, it looks like you’ve got it all together—but inside, it feels like you’re barely holding on.
Have you always powered through life, only to now find yourself at a breaking point—collapsing after years of holding it all together?
As a Black LGBTQIA+ professional, you’ve achieved a lot — but inside, it can feel like you’re barely holding it together. The anxiety is constant, and maybe you’ve even hit a breaking point — like a panic attack before an important work meeting. The pressure to perform never lets up, and even though you’ve checked all the boxes, low self-esteem still finds a way to creep in and take over.
Harsh self-criticism makes it hard to show up fully — at work, in relationships, in your own life. Deep down, you wonder, “Am I really worth it?” . You’ve tried the affirmations, told yourself to breathe, reminded yourself you’re doing fine — but the relief never lasts. Your mind may say, “You’ve got this,” but your body keeps whispering, “You don’t.” and when your body is screaming “No,” you can’t seem to just think your way out of it.
You’re also carrying so much — trying to be your full, authentic self in spaces that weren’t built with you in mind. And lately, something in you knows: you can’t keep pushing like this.
Hi, I’m Danielle RObbins.
I’m here to help you take off the mask and authentically thrive.
My goal is to help you get to the root of the relentless anxiety and low self-esteem that keeps you stuck, so your present-day relationships, work, and life don’t have to carry the weight of your past. Therapy with me is real and grounded—I offer a warm, affirming space where the Black queer experience is centered and celebrated.
Together, we make room for both joy and pain, honoring all parts of you—from the wounded inner child or teen to the part of you that lights up at a Beyoncé anthem. Here, you can explore your identity, reconnect with yourself, and move through the world with more authenticity and ease.
Ease and peace are possible
Have you tried to “just push through,” but your body just won’t cooperate?
It might feel like you shut down or go into a panic at the worst possible moments—like during a fight with a partner or right before a critical work event. You’ve tried to talk yourself out of it, but your body won’t cooperate. Your rational mind can’t compete with the alarm bells going off inside you.
The stress of constantly being on alert leaves you reaching for something—alcohol, food, or other ways to numb out. You know these habits don’t really help, but at the moment, you just need something to get by. Maybe you’ve promised yourself, again and again, that you’d break the cycle—but when things get intense, the urge to escape takes over.
I help Black queer millennials who’ve always powered through life — until anxiety suddenly stops them in their tracks — find space to breathe and experience ease.

Let’s get clear on what therapy is and isn’t
what therapy is:
Therapy can be a tough sell, especially for folks like you. You’re used to being ten steps ahead, keeping it all together, performing at a high level, and rarely letting anything slip. Slowing down to feel? That might feel risky. Indulgent, even.
I see your drive. I respect how much you’ve accomplished. And I also want to gently name: that constant forward motion may be getting in the way of something deeper.
Therapy asks you to pause. To notice. To sit with what’s real — not just what’s impressive. It can feel frustrating, even confusing at times. But if you stick with it — if you’re willing to get curious about the parts of you that have been long buried or pushed aside — you might uncover something unexpected: you are deeply lovable. Not because you’re accomplished or likable or always “on,” but simply because you are.
what therapy isn’t:
Therapy isn’t just for people who wear their pain on their sleeve. It’s especially for people who don’t. The ones who show up polished, high-functioning, and deeply private — even with themselves.
Therapy isn’t easy. There’s no perfect script or guaranteed outcome. But there is space: to feel, to reflect, to make meaning. To slowly unlearn the belief that you have to keep it all together to be worthy of care.
Therapy isn’t cheap — emotionally or otherwise. It will ask something of you: honesty, vulnerability, courage. But what you gain in return — a deeper connection to yourself, more ease, more freedom — is priceless.
